Well, I just came upon new coffee shop across from my apartment building this evening.
It is located in ShinJeju across from the Marion House Apartment on the same corner where the new Dunkin Donuts opened. They have reasonable prices and the usual menu with a smoking area and a non-smoking area. The interior is very cozy and the staff is very friendly. They can not speak English but they are able to figure out what you want. The grand opening is actually tomorrow the 21st of December. If you purchase at least 7,000 won of anything, they will give you a nice mug to take home with you. If you order an Americano coffee and drink it there, the refills are free as many as you can drink. They also have sandwiches and bagels at reasonable prices as well. I am not sure how well they will do there since there is a Dunkin Donuts right next door, but they seem like they have a good chance to do well there. Even Dunkin Donuts doesn't give free refills on their original coffee. You have to pay 500 won for a refill. I personally like the coffee taste of Dunkin Donuts original coffee which is basically an Americano better than any place I have been. However, the Cafe Latte I had at Davinci was as good as I have had at TomnToms or Hollys.
Check it out. Bring a book with you and enjoy a nice cup of Java.
I give the place an A- for taste and a B+ for atmosphere A for the staff as well, very friendly.
Only negative was that the bathroom was a little dark. Oh well, can't be perfect.
That reminds me, I would love to have a cup of coffee about now.
